(ICM) has been awarded a Construction Safety Excellence Award (CSEA) from the Associated General Contractors of America (AGC), earning second place in the Specialty Division for companies with 450,000 – 1 million work hours. The AGC CSEA awards are one of the construction industry’s most prestigious safety honors, recognizing companies that go beyond compliance to implement innovative, continuously improving safety and risk management systems. On a recent project at Golden Aluminum, ICM replaced a 40-year-old block casting system during a compressed outage, installing 100,000-pound equipment with tolerances as tight as 1–2 millimeters. The project required around-the-clock work, complex crane coordination and strict safety controls—and was completed with zero incidents.
“It’s easy to become complacent when things are going well, but that’s when risk is actually the highest,” said Dave Montoya, safety director for ICM. “We focus on staying proactive at all times—using data, field feedback and daily engagement to keep safety front and center on every jobsite.”
Winners were selected by a panel of independent safety professionals based on program innovation, management involvement, employee participation and overall safety performance.
