ICM received an annual certification as a Building Fabricator and Steel Erector from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).
Industrial Constructors/ Managers, Inc. (ICM), a licensed, Colorado-based general contractor specializing in industrial construction and plant maintenance, announced that President Ed Myers has joined the Southern Colorado committee of Careers in Construction Colorado (CICC). CICC unites industry and education to help prepare students for rewarding construction careers through hands-on training, certifications and direct job placement.
Myers has joined CICC’s Southern Colorado Committee, which is dedicated to introducing and supporting 12 Southern Colorado high schools to the rewarding career opportunities available in construction. In this role, he will help build strong industry partnerships and support local high schools in bringing the CICC program to life – helping educate, empower, and employ the next generation of construction professionals.
“Careers in construction are incredibly rewarding, but it can be challenging to convey that to the young people who would benefit the most, which is often hardworking, rural students,” said Myers. “CICC helps bridge that gap, creating pathways for students to explore careers in construction through trade schools, apprenticeships or direct workforce entry. I’m honored to join the Southern Colorado committee and look forward to contributing my time and skillset to furthering their mission.”
Founded in 2015 by the Colorado Springs Housing and Building Association (CSHBA), CICC began at Sierra High School in Colorado Springs with just 23 students and has since expanded to 91 schools across Colorado, where it engages more than 5,000 students each day. Today, it is the largest program of its kind in the nation, helping more than 2,200 students enter the construction industry since its inception.
“The Southern Colorado Committee of CICC was formed to unite the construction industry in serving students across the southern Colorado region,” said Sydney White of CICC. “We’re proud to have Ed on our team as we work together to open doors for every student, whether their path leads to 2 or 4-year degrees, trade school, apprenticeship, or entry level workforce. This collaboration exemplifies how our industry can come together to build Colorado’s future.”

Industrial Constructors/Managers, Inc. (ICM), a licensed general contractor specializing in industrial construction and plant maintenance, today announced that it has received an annual certification as a Building Fabricator and Steel Erector from the American Institute of Steel Construction (AISC).
ICM has held an AISC certification since 2010 for Building Fabricator and 2012 for Steel Erector. In the state of Colorado, ICM is one of only a handful of companies who have obtained both a Building Fabricator and Steel Erector certifications. They are often required by engineering firms, as well as government and education projects to ensure that the quality delivered matches the quality expected for such projects.
“We have a manual that outlines in exact detail how we fabricate and erect everything in our line of work,” said Sean Miller, QA/QC director for ICM. “We follow our manual to a ‘T’ in every job we take on and throughout all phases of work, which is why we’re consistently recognized as a high quality contractor. We’re honored for this recognition and will use it as further fuel to deliver quality projects that will continue to stand the test of time.”
The AISC Quality Management Systems Certification sets the quality standard for the structural steel industry and is the most recognized national quality certification program. The certification requires an in-depth review of the company’s management and operational policies and procedures, followed by an audit of how policies and procedures are executed in the fabrication shop and in the field. The program’s goal is to confirm to owners, the design community, the construction industry, and public officials that certified participants have the personnel, organization, experience, documented procedures, knowledge, equipment, and commitment to quality to perform fabrication, manufacturing, and/or erection.
ICM also holds certifications from the National Board of Boiler & Pressure Vessel Inspectors and from the American Welding Society.
