“Pursue Excellence”

Education

ICM supports schools, colleges, and universities by delivering upgrades, expansions and modernizations to academic buildings, campus infrastructure and student-focused facilities—often within active, occupied campuses. ICM serves as a single-source partner, executing work safely, on schedule and to the highest quality standards while minimizing disruption to students, faculty and staff.

Our Education Expertise

ICM regularly partners with school districts, higher education institutions and public agencies to build and modernize spaces that support learning, research and campus life. Our experience spans K–12 and higher education universities where safety, accessibility, schedule certainty and regulatory compliance are essential.

By self-performing through seven union trades, ICM provides a fully integrated, end-to-end delivery model that reduces handoffs, accelerates schedules and improves coordination—an approach that is especially vital when working within active campuses where careful sequencing and communication are key.

Safety and quality are foundational to how we operate. Consistently recognized with AGC CSEA safety awards, ICM maintains a proactive safety culture focused on protecting students, faculty, staff, and our workforce while meeting the stringent requirements of educational institutions—regardless of project size or complexity.

ICM is also AISC-certified for both structural steel fabrication and erection and is among a select group of Colorado contractors holding dual certification as a steel erector and building fabricator. This capability supports the structural and architectural demands of modern educational facilities, reinforcing our ability to deliver durable, high-quality spaces built to serve generations of learners.

Education Projects

  • Upgraded Manzanola elementary and junior-high school, including construction of a new building that houses K-5 classrooms, laboratories, a media center, gym, library, administrative and office spaces, and a lobby and reception area. The school was in dire need of repair and was also a historical landmark, having been built by renowned architect Temple Hoyne Buell in 1925.
  • Updated the Cadet Field House at the United States Air Force Academy. Work included line-pumping concrete up to 300 feet to remediate plumbing penetrations, replacing original concrete walls with cast-in-place concrete and placing lightweight concrete for the press box and ADA platforms.
  • Worked with Arizona’s Navajo Nation on two community school projects, both of which were funded by the Bureau of Indian Affairs as part of a broader initiative to modernize tribal infrastructure. ICM was responsible for structural steel fabrication and erection, as well as the construction of dormitories and maintenance buildings.
