Manufacturing
ICM brings more than four decades of experience delivering complex industrial construction projects within active manufacturing facilities. This experience gives us a deep understanding of the operational constraints, safety requirements, quality controls and production-driven schedules essential to successful work in manufacturing environments.
Our Manufacturing Expertise
From process-driven facilities to heavy industrial manufacturing plants, ICM delivers high-standard projects while maintaining continuous operations. We serve a broad range of manufacturing sectors—including steel, cement, automotive, machine shops and aluminum and glass bottle production — and bring deep experience working inside active facilities. This expertise allows us to safely meet plant-specific requirements and execute work within tightly coordinated outage windows with precision.
ICM employs seven unionized trades in-house, providing fully integrated, end-to-end project delivery—from demolition and foundations to structural steel, equipment installation and commissioning support. This multi-trade model streamlines execution, minimizes downtime during planned or unplanned plant shutdowns and upholds the rigorous safety, quality, and production requirements demanded by the manufacturing industry.
Safety and quality are core tenets of ICM. Recognized annually by the AGC CSEA safety awards, we maintain an uncompromising commitment to protecting our workforce, safeguarding client operations, and ensuring zero-impact integration with ongoing production.
ICM is also AISC-certified in structural steel erection and fabrication, and is among a select group of Colorado contractors certified as both a steel erector and building fabricator. These certifications reinforce our ability to deliver complex industrial projects with precision—where quality, safety, schedule certainty and operational reliability are non-negotiable.

Manufacturing Projects
- Demoed, removed and reinstalled a 600,000-pound car shredder at the Evraz Steel Recycling Plant in Denver. The equipment could shred a car down to 1 to 2-inch diameter pieces, and it needed to be completely demoed and reinstalled in less than 29 days.
- Removed a 40-year-old block caster at Golden Aluminum—a producer of aluminum coil products for the food and beverage packaging market—and installed a new system during a planned outage that was successfully compressed from three weeks to just two.
- Upgraded the emissions control system at Owens Illinois, a leading glass bottle manufacturer to comply with revised EPA air quality standards. The project involved enhancing the plant’s ability to capture and control process-related emissions.
- Relocated and installed equipment for ceramic manufacturer CoorsTek, including the installation of nine 32,000-pound ball mills. ICM demoed the existing platforms and concrete, constructed new foundations and platforms and did a full equipment installation. The equipment was set using custom rigging, hoisting and A-frame systems, allowing the team to hand-rig and precisely place each mill.
